I realised i needed to get back into cross training after many years of just mountain & trail biking so I sat down with Tania to make a planI then set a goal of completing the 2023 Sound 2 Sound - a 1500km bike-packing event for queen Charlotte Sound to Milford Sound.

 

Tania has been awesome at developing a programme based on muscle strength & endurance, cardio and stretching.  This includes 1 pool-based session a week which was foreign to me but is working out well.  We can do HIIT sessions in the pool & my 50 something year old knees are not under stress.

The pool training sessions combined with the more traditional gym sessions work great for me. 

 

If you are looking to get some focus and have a great time working out, then give Tania a shot.  She rocks

I think the biggest challenge was having the confidence to make a start with some training. After being told I needed a knee replacement I gave up on the hill walking I had been doing because of the pain, and my fitness went downhill which made it hard to to get courage to get into something that I enjoyed again.  As soon as I saw on facebook that Tania was starting personal training I made a call – I knew her from attending aquacise classes which she had instructed.

Weightloss is a big one for me – I feel so much healthier, less tired and clothes shopping is much more fun now.  The other big one is mobility and flexibility. I had a lot of anxiety and lacked confidence to get into something unknown and new. Having PTSD I needed to have an instructor that I trusted and understood if I was having a bad day, and I have found that
